Chinook
The Chinook is the main USA air transport unit, and is capable of transporting up to 8 infantry units or one or two vehicles. It is also the USA's supply gatherer, capable of loading up $600 worth of supplies in one go. As a special ability, Rangers can exit the Chinook via four ropes without the Chinook needing to land. Rangers can rappel themselves directly into civilian structures to garrison them. If the structure they rappel into is already garrisoned by enemies, the Rangers will simply take it over by eliminating the enemies inside it. |
Raptor
The F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation fighter jet capable of precise and powerful strikes against air and ground targets. Being highly suited to dogfights, Raptors can quickly gain control of the skies, and deliver powerful air support to take out all but the heaviest ground units. Townes uses a slightly modified version which comes with the Laser Missiles upgrade. The Point Laser Defence upgrade fits this jet with a small module that can destroy missiles with a small laser. |
Stealth Fighter
This stealth plane, also called the F-117 Nighthawk, fires air-to-ground missiles which are extremely effective against defenses and do good damage against other ground targets as well. Because it is stealthed when not firing, it can be difficult to take down before it disappears again, making its attacks hard to anticipate and giving it the ability to attack 'out of nowhere'. Townes' version of this jet starts with the Laser Missiles upgrade and the Point Laser Defence upgrade fits this jet with a small laser that can destroy missiles. Additionally its missiles can be equipped with Bunker Buster warheads, allowing them to clear garrisoned buildings and force units out of tunnel networks. |
Laser Comanche
A heavily modified version of the standard Comanche, fitted with powerful laser cannons instead of Hellfire missiles and rocket pods. The lasers are mounted on the stub wings of the Laser Comanche pointing downwards. The lasers instantly strike their targets - vehicles and structures, and dish out a good deal of damage. After firing several shots, the laser cannons require a slight cooling period before being able to fire again. Infantry provide too small a target though, and as such the Laser Comanche only uses its nose mounted machine gun instead of its lasers against them. Its formidable power is offset by its vulnerability; it has thin armour and can be quickly destroyed. It can gain some additional protection from the Point Laser Defence upgrade, which gives it a small laser module to intercept enemy missiles whether if it is aiming at the Laser Comanche or not. The Focusing Crystals upgrade increases its laser's range and firepower. |
