Hat in the hell is a meme on Fallout Studios. It is used as an exclamation when someone's keyboard is skipping keys, causing the intended message to have several letters missing.
Origins
The meme originated from an MSN conversation between Comr4de and Revan, and was posted by Revan in the Funny quotes topic. In the conversation, Comr4de was desperately trying to get his message across, but his S, W and X keys were not working. Therefore, when he tried to type what in the hell it came out as hat in the hell, and buttons arent working resulted in button arent orking. After a few more of these messages, Revan asked humorously why the conversation had suddenly turned into discussing the Orks from Lord of the Rings. Eventually, Comr4de resorted to leet-speak to deliver his final message: ok $o my '$' - '\/\/' - and >< dont \/\/ork.
The conversation was met with much laughter from several members when it was posted in the Funny quotes thread. The next day, Revan posted a picture he made about the conversation in the Image macros topic. This resulted in even more fun, and the phrase stuck.
