The Prize Fund is name given to the resources that the Fallout Studios leadership have dedicated for the use in on-line gaming tournaments for and between community members. Competitions
The aim of the fund is to encourage members to set up and run competitions for members of the community by allowing them the ability to offer real prizes to the victors. Competitions can be based on any game played by the Fallout Studios community, since Fallout Studios has dedicated servers for Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 these were expected to be popular. As of October 2009 only one competition, the Screen Shot of the Month has run to completion.
Prizes
The prizes for the competitions are selected by the organizer of the tournament in conjunction with the administrators, but the intention of the fund is to provide the 1st place prize via Steam using their gift facility. Depending on the size of the tournament, number of players etc, there is the capability to provide lesser prizes for 2nd and 3rd place participants.
Applications
Any member of Fallout Studios can run a competition and apply to the administrators for access to the fund. Any game is supported, so long as it can be demonstrated that the community has an active interest in it. The complete set of applications terms can be found in this topic.
